Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt has appealed to the police to swiftly investigate and prosecute those behind the tragic death of the Upper East Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adams Mahama.

The NPP chairman was attacked by two unidentified men who poured acid on Wednesday night when he was returning from his construction site.

He was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital but later passed away Thurday morning. One person has so far been arrested in connection with the acid attack on Adams Mohammed.

But Kwesi Pratt on Adom FM’S Dwaso Nsem described the incident as a shameful act and called for thorough investigations.

He said issues concerning politics in the country have been taken for granted for a long time and therefore “this is the right time to get perpetrators of various crimes to book”.

“Pouring acid on your chairman all in the name of politics is annoying and uncalled for. If that person is even the grandfather of Jesus, he should be arrested to serve as a deterrent to others in the party” he stated.

Kwesi Pratt said inasmuch as some names have been mentioned as being masterminds of the act, nmust be conducted in order not to prosecute innocent people.

He therefore appealed to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to call its supporters to order to prevent further escalation.
